Island Cuisine

Nevis is one of the greatest food destinations in the Caribbean. From casual to elegant and local to international, you’re sure to fall in love with the food on Nevis.

Here are some of our favorites in no particular order.

(Reservations are recommended for everything except the beach bars).

Bananas Bistro

Nestled up in the hills in a tropical garden, Bananas Bistro is a bit off the beaten path but it’s worth the drive! We suggest you go at sunset and arrive early for pre-dinner drinks up on the veranda.

Drift

Set in a rustic little beach house, Drift is a tiny restaurant with a big beautiful view. This is a another one to plan for a sunset meal.

Luna Restaurant and Tapas Bar

Owned by the same family as Drift, Luna is a great little restaurant within walking distance of Mandevilla. You will enjoy an African inspired menu while sitting in a beautiful tropical courtyard.

Indian Summer

Indian Summer is a favorite of everyone in our family and we go there every time we visit. It has something for everyone, including many vegetarian options. It is a popular restaurant for locals so this is one you definitely need reservations for.

Mango

Mango is located at the Four Seasons but is open to the public. It has a spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea and St. Kitts and is another great spot to watch the sunset.

Hermitage Plantation Inn

The Hermitage Plantation is a charming inn and restaurant with lots of history and is one of our favorite places for brunch. The food is fantastic and made with herbs and spices fresh from their garden. The fresh lemongrass tea is amazing! Be sure to take some time before or after your meal to stroll around the lush, tropical grounds.

Golden Rock Inn

Plan to stay awhile when you visit the Golden Rock Inn, an old sugar plantation dating back to the early 1800’s. Besides enjoying the amazing restaurant, The Rocks, which has a Caribbean inspired menu, you will want to take time to explore the extensive tropical gardens. (There is also a starting point here for a hike up Nevis peak).

Crishi Beach Club

Crishi Beach Club at Cades Bay beach is what we would call an elegant beach bar. It’s on a great beach for swimming and our kids love their burgers and pina colada milkshakes. Even though this is technically a beach bar, reservations are probably a good idea in the evening.

Sunshine’s

Famous for his rum punch, the Killer Bee (don’t bother asking him the secret recipe, he won’t tell you!), Sunshine also makes really, really good food! It’s right on Pinney’s beach and has a laid back West Indies vibe that will make you want to hang out all day.

Yachtsman Grill

Craving pizza? This is your place! Famous for their thin crust pizza, they also have a great wine selection.
